I can't believe I'm not reading more about Marlon Byrd's great play in the 9th - throwing out David Ortiz at second. Without that play, there would have been two runners on and only one out, and the American League would have won another comeback game against the NL.

Yankees are a great team, but the Phillies will not be intimidated and they're not like the Dodgers and Angels - laid-back ballclubs from LALA Land. Phillies are hard-nosed scrappy group that will do whatever it takes to win. Key for the Phillies is staying patient while staying disciplined.

Nice to see the Phils' J.A. Happ included in Blyleven's piece. One big error though - as well as he's pitched, J.A. is not the Phils' #1 pitcher; Cliff Lee is.

Camden Yards may be a beautiful stadium but, for watching a ballgame, it stinks. The sight lines are awful. Unless you're 8 rows behind a dugout, your view will blocked by a railing, a stairway, or other fans. It is virtually impossible to follow a game from the left field …

The Phillies have generally made good decisions since cleaning house in '06, and turning over the team to Howard, Rollins, and Utley. But if they take J.A. Happ out of the rotation after what he has accomplished this season, that will be a step backward.
